What is Severe Anxiety?
Severe anxiety is a mental health condition characterized by intense, overwhelming feelings of fear, worry, or dread that can interfere with daily functioning. Unlike normal anxiety, which is a natural response to stress, severe anxiety can be persistent and disabling. Symptoms may include rapid heartbeat, sweating, dizziness, difficulty breathing, and a constant sense of impending doom.
Severe anxiety is often associated with anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, or social anxiety disorder. Treatment usually involves therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and may include medications like antidepressants or anti-anxiety drugs to help manage symptoms.
