What is Apathetic?
Apathy is when someone lacks motivation, enthusiasm, or interest in things that used to bring
them joy or meaning. This emotional numbness is often linked to mental health issues like
depression, where people may feel disconnected from their feelings and the world around them.
Apathy can also arise from chronic stress, burnout, or neurological conditions like dementia. It
can have a big impact on daily life, leading to social withdrawal and lower productivity.
To address apathy, it's important to treat the root cause, whether it’s a mental health condition
or a physical issue. Therapy, especially cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), can help people
reconnect with life and find a renewed sense of purpose and energy.
